Die Wohnbaugenossenschaft Areal, WBG Basel, wurde 1993 gegründet und hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, bezahlbaren, nachhaltigen und gesunden Wohnraum zu schaffen. Sie legt Wert auf gemischte Siedlungsformen und heißt Menschen aus allen Altersgruppen, Kulturen und Gesellschaftsschichten willkommen. Die Genossenschaft betreibt zwei Liegenschaften mit insgesamt 12 Wohnungen an der Rixheimer- und Lothringerstrasse und baut neu 22 Wohnungen im Lysbüchel Quartier.
