The Baugenossenschaft Matt (BGM) is a non-profit cooperative whose aim is to create, acquire and maintain affordable housing. It strives to offer housing to all segments of the population and promotes living together in a spirit of social responsibility and mutual solidarity. The BGM generally limits its activities to the city of Lucerne and the surrounding municipalities. It was founded in 1953 and has over 600 apartments.
